Meditation for Everyone

Upcoming Meditation Class Series:

The Wisdom of Love (from February 6)

Love can never cause any problems or unhappiness, although we often feel that the opposite is the case.  On this course we will learn methods to bring into our relationships a love that is wise, joyful and never painful.

Letting go of Anxiety (from March 7)

In this fast-paced world, anxiety and stress are increasingly common problems. Meditation can provide real relief from this mental pain by creating a sense of inner peace. We learn that it is possible to control our mind, rather than allowing our mind to control us. By accepting our painful feelings rather than being panicked by them, we can keep a calm mind in all situations.

The Confidence to Change (from April 3)

Everyone wants to change, but we often find ourselves feeling stuck in unhealthy and unhappy habits. Learn how to develop self-confidence that is based on a realistic view of oneself.  Through meditation and mindfulness create inner change that will skillfully bring joy and hope into our daily life.

About the Classes

The classes are organized as short courses, usually 3 to 5 weeks long. Each class is self-contained, so feel free to drop-in for one or more. You do not need to pre-register.

The classes are suitable for both beginners and more experienced meditators. Chairs are provided for your comfort. At some venues you have the choice to sit on a chair or in the traditional meditation posture on cushions on the floor.

Class Format

Guided Meditation
Each class begins with guided breathing meditation to help settle the mind, let go of distractions and cultivate inner peace. At some classes, a short prayer called The Liberating Prayer is sung; we can join in and recite it if you wish.

The Teacher will then give a practical teaching which will focus on how we can integrate Buddha’s timeless wisdom into our busy daily lives.

Concluding Meditation
The class will finish with a concluding meditation to help us take the teaching to heart. There is also an opportunity to ask questions and have refreshments.
